SECURE HORIZONS:

FINANCIAL LITERACY (FREE)

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, New Step CDC is hosting a financial legacy planning workshop to assist individuals in developing and organizing a plan that can be easily shared with loved ones. In addition to vital information from field experts, each participant will receive a “Peace of Mind” Planner and draft documents to start them on their path to peace of mind. VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Through the IRS, New Step's trained volunteers provide free income tax preparation and e-file services for the underserved every tax season.

PROGRAMS

NEED 2 FEED

Since 2016 New Step has provided over 5,000 food boxes to needy families in Inkster and the surrounding areas. From private donations and through leveraging its relationship with Gleaners Food Bank, on the third Friday of each month, New Step continues this mission.

CAMP IMPACT

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Education is the cornerston of improved life outcomes for the person and the community. New Step remains committed to encouraging students and parents in that pursuit. In addition in partnership with We Rise, another Inkster non-profit, New Step has provided after program support and held annual backpack drives to assist school age children in the area.

COLLEGE CARE PACKAGES

New Step is committed to encouraging students in pursuit of higher education and recognizes that leaving home for school is a big step. The organization supports new students with needed food and supplies to start their on-campus life on the right foot.

SAINTS DELIVER

From holiday gift boxes of food, toys, and clothing for struggling families in the area, to winter clothing and food support for families in distress and personal items for the un-housed, New Step is committed to offering a hand up to those in need.
